Yerseke – Netherlands

Die Ortschaft Yerseke gehört zur Gemeinde Reimerswaal niederländischen Provinz Zeeland. Sie liegt an der Nordostküste der Halbinsel Zuid-Beveland. Schon um 1870 begannen die Fischer von Yerseke mit deren Aufzucht, Verarbeitung und dem Handel. Sie hatten erkannt, dass Austern und Muscheln in dem sauberen und warmen Gewässer des Oosterschelde-Meeresarmes besonders gut heranwachsen.

Schon im Juli beginnt hier die Muschelsaison, die bis zum April des folgenden Jahres läuft. 65 Muschelzüchter ernten mit ihren Schiffen die in drei Jahren herangereiften Schalentiere aus den “Muschelparks” im Wattenmeer vor den friesischen Inseln oder im Meeresdelta von Seeland.

Die Schalentiere werden nicht sofort verarbeitet, sondern in abgesteckte Parzellen in der Oosterschelde vor Yerseke versenkt. Im Wasser befreien sich die Muscheln durch ihre natürliche Filtration von allem vom Sand. “Wir nennen es den nassen Landbau”, so Henk Verploegh vom Muschelbetrieb Roem van Yerseke.

Sieben Tage und länger bleiben die Schalentiere in den “Packhäusern”, um nach Bedarf herausgefischt und als frische Muscheln oder als Konserven verarbeitet zu werden.

Mosseldag or Day of the Mussels is an annual event in the Dutch town of Yerseke. The event takes place on the third Saturday of August.

Annually, around 50,000 people visit the event. They come from the close region, but also from Belgium, Germany and France. Mosseldag is known for eating mussels, a local delicacy, and other seafood. You can go freely on a trip over the Eastern Scheldt with a mussel fishing boat (or watch the fleet go by), walk along the fair and watch the tattoo and fireworks in the evening.

Mosseldag ou jour des moules est une célébration annuelle dans le village de Yerseke, dans la province de Zélande aux Pays-Bas. L’événement a lieu le troisième samedi d’août.

L’événement attire environ 50 000 visiteurs de la région et des visiteurs des Pays-Bas, de la Belgique, d’Allemagne et de France. Mosseldag est connu pour les moules à manger, la navigation avec mosselkotters ou le passage de la flotte, le carnaval et la fête de rue dans le village. Dans la soirée, il y a une parade des bandes de musique près de la port et la journée se termine avec des feux d’artifice. Au cours de mosseldag il y a occasion de manger diverses spécialités de la mer.

Tháng 8 năm 2018 , nhóm Taberd 74 tại Âu Châu có một buổi họp nhỏ tại Yerseke , Hoà Lan . Như mọi năm vào trung tuần tháng 8 ở Yerseke đều có tổ chức vào cuối tuần lể sò . Từ thứ sáu đến chủ nhật khắp thành phố đều bán sò , ngoài ra họ còn tổ chức đi tham quan chổ nuôi sò bằng tàu .
